Julie Macfarlane2013National
Abstract
A national study of self-represented litigants (SRLs) in family court, based on court file reviews and interviews with judges, lawyers, and SRLs. Finds that SRLs represent over 50% of family court litigants in most provinces, face significant procedural disadvantages, and that the system is not designed to accommodate them effectively.
